Water Softener Couldn’t Stop the Rust
The customer had been using a Fleck 2510 water softener system with two inline 20 micron sediment filters.
The raw well water tested at:
- 5ppm of iron
- 30gpg hardness
- 0ppm hydrogen sulfide
- strong rotten egg smell
In some cases, a softener could handle that level of iron. But not here.
Iron Bacteria was giving the water a horrible smell – and it was growing through the water softener!
